Madonna To Receive Honorary GLAAD Award For LGBTQ Support

A pop music queen has gotten recognition for her support towards the LGBT community.

During Madonna‘s illustrious career, she has been a loud, proud, and potent supporter of the LGBTQ community. Musically, politically, and socially.

The Queen of Pop will be presented with the honor to recognize her work raising awareness of the HIV and AIDS crisis and international LGBTQ issues at the annual ceremony, which is set to take place this year on 12 April during the upcoming GLAAD Media Awards.

The singer, who is readying new music for release this year, will be presented with the honor at the New York ceremony on May 4th.

Speaking in a statement, GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis stated:

“From the HIV crisis to international LGBTQ issues, she fearlessly pushes for a world where LGBTQ people are accepted. Her music and art have been life-saving outlets for LGBTQ people over the years and her affirming words and actions have changed countless hearts and minds.”

Much deserved.
